Markku ”Luigi” Nord

Golf travel professional with decades of experience connecting people, destinations and opportunities across the international golf travel industry.

I have spent most of my working life in golf travel, working with destinations, golf resorts, tourism organisations and other industry partners in Finland and internationally.

My career in tourism has taken me from working as a tour guide and destination manager to product development, tour operating, golf travel entrepreneurship, destination marketing, communications and international industry cooperation.

Today, I continue this work through 59 Traveller in outbound golf travel and Finncoming in inbound tourism, bringing international golfers to Finland.

Through Via Nord, I work with golf destinations, resorts, tourism organisations and other industry partners looking to connect with the Finnish golf market. My work combines golf travel consulting, communications and market representation, built on local market knowledge, international relationships and decades of hands-on experience in the golf travel business.

Over the years, I have also been involved in creating and producing numerous golf events, corporate golf programmes and international golf travel projects.

In 2024, I was honoured to receive the Finnish Golf Union’s Lifetime Achievement Award for my work in golf tourism.
